Come and enjoy the Beaulieu Prep cycling fun

BEAULIEU – The Parents Teacher Forum at Beaulieu Preparatory will once again be hosting its annual mountain biking and trail run fun day on 7 June at the Inanda Country Base in Kyalami.

The forum organises a number of annual fundraising initiatives to enhance the educational, cultural and sporting experience for the children of the school. The Beaulieu MTB and trail run challenge fundraiser takes place in the 4 500-hectare Greater Kyalami Conservancy (Gekco) and has been running successfully for the past six years.

“As many as 1 000 cyclists are set to participate this year,” said Jason du Toit, deputy chair of the forum.

“This year we will be including a trail run for those who are more nimble footed than MTB savvy.

“Our outreach programme collects new or secondhand cycle clothing and helmets to be donated and distributed through the Diepsloot Mountain Bike Academy.”

The event will start and end at the Inanda Country Base in Kyalami, and there will be a variety of activities, including live radio broadcasting by MixFM, food and beverage stores and chill zones. A children’s zone with fun activities and mechanical rides will also feature. There will be a country market to keep spectators and families occupied.

The MTB race is divided into five different categories and two trail runs:
