Over 400 juniors entered the various age categories, contesting singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles.
In spite of facing tough competition and contending with wet and cold conditions, Assenmacher and Liebenberg managed to bag a win.
Assenmacher also won a second nationals title when she and her partner from the Eastern Cape, Kaylin Bouwer, also the number one seeded couple, won the Girls’ U14 doubles title.
Liebenberg, who played exceptional tennis throughout the tournament, emerged the runner-up in a riveting and closely contested Boys’ U14 singles final.
