Dressage rider comes out on top in festival

KYALAMI - The Nissan Easter Festival proved to be a successful show for dressage rider Siobhan Records, with her records scoring highly on her dressage tests on both her own and her clients' horses.

A high note for Records was her score of 75 percent in the Preliminary 3 test which she received on her steed Ashwood Euphoric. The pair went on to score 68.8 percent in the Preliminary 4 test to place second, and the horse-and-rider combination was awarded the Preliminary Champion on aggregate.

Riding Agrando La Luna in the Elementary Medium 3 test, Records scored 67.03 percent to place fifth and the pair went on to place fifth again in the Elementary Medium 4 test, scoring 65.46 percent.

Records and Encanto Encantada placed eighth in the Elementary Medium 3 test, with a score of 64.84 percent and placed 11th in the Elementary Medium 4 with a score of 62.65 percent.

Records also rode Rathmor Caprice, who she backed herself, in the Medium 3 test where she scored 66.48 percent to place second and she placed second again in the Medium 4 test with a score of 64.79 percent.

Records riding Equinox Padova, who is affectionately called Paddy, won the Elementary 4 test with 64.83 percent.

She also rode Royal Darco in the advance test Prix St George and placed third.

The classes saw riders from various provinces participating in the stiff competition.

The festival took place at the Kyalami Equestrian Park.
