And the Saints go marching on

BRYANSTON - Perfect form was displayed by the girls from Saint Stithians Girls College as they won their first four hockey matches in an exuberant fashion.

The girls were off to a great start as they defeated Worksop College all the way from Nottinghamshire,United Kingdom, 5-0 on 2 April. On the

same day their first challenge came when they took on Diocesan School for Girls, and the halfway scores were 2-2. Just as Saints fans thought the game was going to be a draw, a Saints player slipped through and pushed the score to 3-2 for the hosts.

On 4 April, the girls took on their rivals from Windhoek High School in Namibia. The game got off to a slow start, but the St Stithians Girls drew first blood and scored one goal and a second later in the match ending on 2-0 for Saints.

The winning streak continued as the girls took on major sports school, Hoërskool Waterkloof. It was a challenging, close game as the two schools held each other off for the first half with the scores equal. Saints were spurred on by the crowd and finished off their fourth game with a score of 3-2.
