Former St. Stithian shines for the Lions

ILLOVO - Former St. Stithians School pupil Kagiso Rabada put on a resounding all-round performance as he played for the Bizhub Highveld Lions.

The game took place at the Bidvest Wanderers Cricket Stadium on 22 February and saw the Bizhub Highveld Lions play against the Sunfoil Dolphins.

Rabada ran through the Dolphins line-up in the first innings and took five wickets for 72 runs and returned in the second innings to take nine wickets for 33 runs, a record innings haul for the Lions in four-day cricket.

The Lions maintained their healthy lead at the top of the Sunfoil series log table after their 10-wicket victory over the Durban outfit.

Rabada ended with match figures of 14 for 105. It was for the second time that a bowler had taken over nine wickets in an innings in the history of the Sunfoil series.
