Do your part and vote

Ward 104 councillor, Mike Wood writes:

I am writing to ask for your [readers’] involvement in mobilising our community to take part in local government elections this year.

Local government elections have, historically, had a very poor voter turnout and it is my aim that this year’s election will not suffer from the prevailing culture of complacency.

I am appealing to the local community, who play a pivotal role in instilling a sense of social agency, to inspire those who are eligible to vote to become actively involved in electing a government that represents their interests.

I respectfully ask that you would help to inform residents of the upcoming local government elections and the registration dates in March.

Are you going to vote this year? Let us know on the Sandton Chronicle Facebook page
