Criticise leaders, burn in hell?

PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma has said those who insult leaders would be cursed, as government and God are connected.

He told a congregation in Giyani, Limpopo to pray for people who insult leaders, and described their language as rough and disrespectful.

Zuma said, “… if you allow them to insult those in authority, you are creating a society that is angry with itself. It is said that God was so upset with Moses for striking the rock the second time in the desert, and (God) became very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence.”

Perhaps Prophet Zuma thinks that if the ANC is criticised South Africa will turn into Sodom and Gomorrah?

Since he supposedly has a direct connection to the heavens, Zuma should ask his god what his view on e-tolling is, and if those who don’t like it would rot in hell?

Next on the President’s prayer list should be checking if those who have a problem with the Guptas’ wedding are evil and cursed?

And when a head of state wants a multi-million rand home, he should fund it with public money – and pray that his god will forgive him.

It’s clear, in Zuma’s mind at least, that the ‘non-believers’ will get prosecuted – or the lucky ones will be saved by their creator through medical parole.

But those in positions of power can duck and dive from the law – after all, their ‘god’ is on their side.
