Sandton SPCA in Marlboro Gardens hosted a family-oriented market fundraiser on October 14.
The event was characterised by loads of sun, happy animals, and numerous stalls selling a variety of items.
“What we’re hoping to achieve today is to raise the much-needed funds to support the core work of the SPCA,” said Sandton SPCA general manager Stephen Maila.
Maila emphasised that the event was towards generating capital towards being able to continue to do outreach sterilising animals, and to also have funds for looking after the animals that are rescued from the Sandton community.
“Some stalls are going to donate some of their proceeds to the SPCA; some have already been selling to help us,” Maila concluded. “It’s also a fun day, and a family day for people to come together and support our kind of work.”
