Meet Jenny Lorio – Sandton’s spine and backbone

Sandton entrepreneur Jenny Lorio recently celebrated her store's landmark 75th anniversary

Sandton resident and entrepreneur has taken over the reigns of Lyons – a legacy clothing store which has been retailing in Sandton since 1948, shortly after the Second World War.

Iorio said she and her husband have lived in Sandton for five years, around the hustle and bustle of Sandton City.

“My husband works in the financial industry and we always wanted to live close to where his work was,” Iorio said. We love the vibrancy of Sandton and the fact that you can enjoy a meal at some of the top restaurants.”

Lyons, which has been operating for seven and a half decades, has recently entered into a partnership with HospiceWits; a partnership stemming from Iorio’s personal connection to the hospice.

“We are honoured both in our personal capacity and as a business to be able to play a role in assisting patients and families in need. This cause mirrors our commitment to making a meaningful impact on the community.”

She said Hospice Wits plays a critical role in the community, providing palliative and hospice care to patients at the most challenging time of their lives while also supporting their loved ones through this difficult time.

“We look forward to building this special relationship and expanding our impact on the community with new avenues, further contributing to this worthy cause.”
