Local school learners based in Hyde Park shine at the Top Investor Challenge

Hyde Park-based school congratulates its learners for being the investment challenge winners.

Hyde Park High School celebrates the achievement of their business studies learners, Karen Ndlovu, Nkatsane Dlamini, Samukele Ngcobo, and Inam Bantsawe, for winning the Coronation Top Investor Challenge.

An outstanding achievement indeed, as Hyde Park High School was one of six schools invited to the Coronation Women’s Breakfast, an initiative to celebrate and empower women in the financial industry and inspire young minds to consider careers in economics and finance.

As part of the initiative, the girls were required to complete an investment game designed by Coronation.

“The game involved investing a hypothetical portfolio of R1000 to deliver the best possible investment returns to investors. Their results were outstanding, with returns amounting to R1 700 000; Hyde Park School emerged as the winning team against some strong contesting schools, including Greenside High and Parktown Girls, walking away with the grand prize of R20 000.”

She added that the school’s principal, Melanie Kallie, congratulated the team of learners who were mentored by their teachers, Hillary Sambo and Sifundo Lubhelwana, and praised them for their achievement.
