Quava Vocal Group graces Bryanston Methodist Church

Johannesburg-based World Choral Cup victors again take the stage at their Annual Winter Concert.

Quava Vocal Group held its 4th Annual Winter Concert at the Bryanston Methodist Church on July 29.

The group is a multi-award-winning chamber choir based in Johannesburg and consists of singers from across Gauteng.

Choir conductor Sabelo Mthembu said, “This winter concert is special because we are premiering our three new works, diversifying the repertoire and selecting music that touches the soul.”

He added that the choir had embarked on its first international tour to Italy and Spain last year to participate in the World Choral Cup.

“Quava won gold at the inaugural choir competition and was announced as the jazz and adult choir winners, beating 31 choirs from 24 countries.”

Mthembu thanked everyone who attended and hoped they enjoyed the choir’s angelic voices.
