Like any achiever, she has faced challenges in her gymnastics journey, such as struggling with difficult moves.

She thanked her coaches and all the girls in the Prima Club, Level 2.

“I am happy that I am finally at another level of my journey. Having received a medal shows that my hard work is paying off, and I would love to get a gold one and eventually join the SA team for the Olympics.”

Isabella added that what led her to rhythmic gymnastics was the fact that her best friend was doing it and she used to watch her do it. She thought it was interesting and something she would like to do.

Fast forward to now, and she is enjoying the sport and aiming for gold medals in competitions.

“I am very motivated and inspired by other girls at my level. As they always practise so hard-I see myself continuing this as a hobby but not a profession because I am not sure what I would like to do one day.”

Super excited mom Jo-Anne Sujee-Govender said she is still in awe of her daughter’s accomplishment.

“Isabella has quite a full schedule, from playing the violin to the piano, and having started as a beginner in rhythmic gymnastics last year, one can see that she gives her best in everything she takes on.”
