Cricket school hopes for better results

A hard day awaits Cover Drive cricket school players at the grounds as they practice for upcoming games.

Cover Drive Cricket School U9s are having one of their busiest periods with back-to-back tournaments.

The team had a training session ahead of their game against SS Cricket Academy on June 10.

Cover Drive head coach Sydwell Ndlovu said he was pleased with how the players improved their skills and conducted themselves in the Renegades night league where they won against Delfos and lost against Wits.

“Our boys are always eager to win and are disappointed when they lose, and that shows how passionate they are,” he said.

He added that as a coach, he sometimes had to take a step back and pay attention to the squad’s development.

“Today I was checking on everyone and making sure they all get a chance to bat or bowl. We deal with growth and improving team and individual skills.”

Ndlovu said they were ready for the weekend’s game.
