Angry Buccleuch residents are protesting outside Megawatt Park on Maxwell Drive in Sunninghill against the power outages they have been experiencing over the past two weeks.
The residents waved placards and brought along their perishables that had been spoilt to dump at the power utility’s gate. The residents are determined to get answers from Eskom.
Singing and chanting at the gate, they demanded Eskom officials come outside and tell them what they are doing to restore the power.
Seshma Bhoopal, one of the residents who is greatly affected by these outages, said, “We are here today to make sure that Eskom answers us and also fast-tracks their process in fixing and restoring power in Buccleuch.”
She added that they are fighting for the people of Buccleuch, and they will do whatever it takes to have answers today.
