Bryanston High School celebrates teachers

Bryanston High School celebrates their teachers with the welcoming of new staff members and an award ceremony for their long-standing teachers on January 25.

During the evening of January 25, teachers and staff members of Bryanston High School hosted an intimate gathering to celebrate their teachers.

The ceremony started off with a small welcoming speech and a list of house rules presented by acting principal Jerome Lawrence who was thrilled to see all of his teachers in one space.

Deputy principal of Bryanston High School Andy Crighton officially welcomed all of the new highly skilled teachers who recently joined the school. After the welcoming session, the award ceremony commenced.

Teachers who were given their accolades on the evening were individuals who had spent five to more than three decades at the school.

“We have a very family-orientated staff, so celebrating these kinds of milestones is something special and we really enjoy doing that. My highlight of the evening was seeing Malcolm Gillespie receive his award for the longest-running staff member in the school. To see him getting his 35-year recognition was an incredible feeling,” said Crighton.

According to the deputy principal, teachers who have reached their fifth year mark at the school, qualify to receive an award as it happens on an annual basis.

The function concluded with teachers mingling with one another and shouts of hoorays being thrown in the air.
