“I believe that my calling has always been to serve others. Assisting communities with their current issues and engaging with people in different backgrounds comes naturally to me and I know that those key factors will help me adapt quicker to my position, but so far everything has been smooth sailing,” said Lechaba.

Before joining the unit, the Sergeant was previously assigned to work as an administrator for the over role visible policing.

“I look forward to the new start with its challenges. Even though majority of my career has been office bound, I am confident that we as the police officers of Sandton, will do our outmost best to serve and protect our communities,” said Lechaba.

“My plan for the new year is to share information in connection with crime prevention to various people and places especially the youth. Crime is a battle that also needs the participation of the residents, with that being said we ask residents to help us by reporting any suspicious behaviours in the area.”
