The St David’s Marist Inanda matriculants achieve 100% pass rate

Sixteen (16) pupils received 7 distinctions or more at the St David’s Marist Inanda matrics of 2022. The school received a 93% bachelor’s degree pass rate.

The executive headmaster of the school Mike Thiel said, “We are immensely proud of our matric class of 2022, who showed resilience and determination following two years of disrupted education due to Covid-19″.

“These young men not only succeeded academically but were tenacious and passionate in their sporting, cultural, leadership and service endeavours. A St David’s Marist Inanda education is about so much more than the results achieved; it is about a journey of self-discovery, connection, friendship and service, and we are confident that this education will stand these fine young men in good stead to venture beyond the gates of St David’s and pursue lives of impact and purpose,” she added.

The school congratulated parents, guardians and extended families for their support, encouragement, guidance and love that enabled the school’s young men to thrive.

“While we take this opportunity to showcase our top achievers, we celebrate each of our boys – each has travelled a different and personal journey with its own challenges and unique circumstances, and we stand in admiration of each of them and what they have achieved, today and throughout their time at St David’s,” she said.

These were the school’s results:

• 4 boys achieved eight distinctions
• 12 boys achieved seven distinctions
• 7 boys achieved six distinctions
• 4 boys achieved five distinctions
• 7 boys achieved four distinctions
• 57% of boys achieved at least one subject distinction

IEB top achievers:

• 12 boys achieved placement in the IEB top 1% of candidates (13 placings across eight subjects)
• One candidate placed within the IEB Commendable Achievers list (achieved within the top 5% in five subjects and achieved a rating level of 7 in Life Orientation)
