Sandton based content creator, Alexis Zissimides, shares crucial advice to upcoming content creators.

It is evident that social media is taking the world by storm and many who have mastered the ways of connecting brands with people are standing out in great numbers with their creativity.

The Sandton-based content creator and makeup artist, Alexis Zissimides, shares her successes and hardships of being a social media content creator which requires a lot of attention and hard work.

Like many others in this world, Zissimides, was at a point in her life where she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, but that quickly changed one Christmas morning.

“I was in a real rut at the time and wasn’t sure where I was going or what I wanted to do with my life, but I knew I loved makeup so I started creating. I received a camera as a gift one Christmas which further ignited my passion and allowed me to share my content with others. Then I started saving up for a ring light. It gave me so much purpose and direction,” said Zissimides.

The young individual who specialises in makeup, fashion and lifestyle, gravitated towards her new found purpose back in 2018 and has never looked back. Through her success, Zissimides unravelled a challenge while juggling a few aspects in her life.

“My biggest challenge has been consistency. It’s hard to grow without consistency. Balancing creating and work can be difficult at times and that is why I am planning to make it my full-time profession,” said Zissimides. “I definitely think local creators have blossomed on social media over the last year because more
and more brands are seeing the benefits of influencer marketing.”

According to the makeup master, her biggest highlight of her career was working with brands such as Catrice and Essence.

Zissimides shared final words for upcoming content creators, “choose your niche, work on an aesthetic or brand identity and be consistent. Quality over quantity and invest in your equipment.”
