Residents of Parkmore and Bryanston take time to save lives

Residents near Pick n Pay on Nicol visit blood drive organised by the South African National Blood Service to ensure that more lives are saved.

As many residents make their great return to the real world, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) took the opportunity to save more lives by scheduling a blood drive at the Pick n Pay on Nicol.

The blood drive which was open to everyone in the area took place from January 4 to 8 with the target of having 15 donors per day.

“Since I started donating when I was young, I think that this is my tenth time donating blood. I just know that we can change an outcome at the end of the day if more people donated. My one ounce of blood won’t make a huge difference but if there are ten of us, that could end up saving someone’s life. It could be you that needs the blood, share and donate,” said blood donor, Ingrid Vaughan.
