ICYMI: Crawford Bryanston Pre-Primary learners learn the ins and outs of food

The Grade 00 learners at Crawford International Bryanston Pre-Primary got their aprons dirty as they learnt more about how the food that they eat is made.

Crawford International Bryanston Pre-Primary recently gave its learners an inside look into how the foods that they eat are made.

According to the school’s Lindiwe Sibisi, under the theme How we Organise Ourselves, the Grade 00 class learnt not only about food consumption but also the processes that different foods undergo in order to reach their plates.

Zayne De Bruin is proud of his homemade tagliatelle.

“They learnt how to make pasta dough and got to choose between making their own spaghetti or tagliatelle.”

The learners were also introduced to how dairy products are produced and the farming processes involved.

Zohar Baijoo is excited to share his spaghetti with the class.

“We used butter, milk & cheese to make a béchamel sauce to accompany our pasta. The learners thoroughly enjoyed their pasta lunch,” said Sibisi.
