Local music competition hopes to empower young talent

Season two of the Remy Producers local music competition is looking for the community’s best beat makers.

Do you have what it takes to be South Africa’s new best music producer?

Season two of the Rémy Producers local music competition recently opened, giving young and upcoming talent the opportunity to not only become one of the country’s best beatmakers but also share their talent on a global stage.

In partnership with local duo Major League Djz, the music competition replicated the US series by pairing renowned producers with budding artists to give them a foot in the industry.

“We are cognisant that there are many young talented South Africans who aspire to make it big but do not have the opportunity for exposure. This competition offers our aspiring artists the opportunity to be recognised and be mentored into seasoned producers,” said Jerome Adonis, portfolio manager at Edward Snell and Co, on behalf of Rémy Martin South Africa.

He added that partnering with Major League DJz this season was a major positive for both the brand and the participants as the duo was recently signed to global record label brand Atlantic Records.

“In line with our brand ethos, we are looking for an authentic sound that pushes boundaries, a sound that is audacious and appealing to a global audience.”

To enter, producers must visit www.remyproducers.co.za and submit their best beat of no more than 60 seconds in MP3 format before November 30, 2022.

Shortlisted candidates will showcase their skills to a panel of judges. In the end, only one producer will be crowned, awarding them the opportunity to play alongside Major League DJz in Dubai.
