According to Tembe, the vehicles were donated by the South African Breweries (SAB) and feature two chambers where officials will conduct tests and instantly record alcohol levels which will speed up the process of conviction.

“I spoke with my officers, and we said that we are committed to bringing safety to our people. Our annual target of lower the fatality rate was 3% but changed to 20%. Together with our partners in the department of emergency services, we are strictly saving lives this year,” said Tembe.
