Imbumba Foundation prepare for the 2023 Trek4Mandela

The Trek4Mandela campaign aimed at eradicating period poverty launched their open day and training at Drakensburg with new climbers preparing to take on Mount Kilimanjaro next year.

Members of the Trek4Mandela campaign, created by the Imbumba Foundation, recently invited guests to take part in their Drakensburg hike to promote their open day for the 2023 edition of the Mount Kilimanjaro expedition.

The Sandton-based organisation which focuses on tackling period poverty has been using campaigns such as Trek4Mandela and Caring4Girls to promote awareness for more than a decade. This is not only to inform the public on the matter but to further find solutions to the social issue.

“Trek4Mandela is open to individuals, from all walks of life, who wish to reach Africa’s rooftop whilst empowering girl children by keeping them in school. We at the Imbumba Foundation are proud that through collaborative efforts between our partners and the Trek4Mandela programme, have empowered millions of girl children. We have a vision to support all quintile one to three schools in South Africa by the year 2030 and believe that through our continued collaborative efforts, can bring this vision to light,” said Moyane.

Sina Moyane and Gugulethu Mfuphi prepare to take on Mount Kilimanjaro but make a quick detour to Drakensburg.
