Sandton Police Station receives vehicle donations

Station Commander of the Sandton Police Station Brigadier Egen Moodley shares his plans for the new police vehicles donated during the launch of the Operation Safer Festive Season at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Officials of the Sandton Police Station were pleased to receive 10 donated vehicles on November 4 during the launch of Operation Safer Festive Season with Gauteng Premier.

The ceremony was held at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark and had various police officials performing drill commands and discussing plans to make the festive season safe for all.

Station Commander of the Sandton Police Station Brigadier Egen Moodley and his police officials were presented with 10 vehicles including mobile stations and drones.

Moodley shared how the vehicles will be used to fight crime around Sandton, “We are excited about the vehicle donation. Seven vehicles will be used for crime prevention duties, liquor and second-hand goods compliance and to police crime hotspots in Sandton. Two are unmarked and will be used for covert monitoring of crime hotspots and for covert operations. One vehicle will be used for social crime prevention and for schools visits.”

The donation was made courtesy of Huawei and the Sandton Community Police Forum (CPF).
