Hundreds of guests who did not need an excuse to pop champagne on November 2 all united under one room at the Inanda Club in Sandton for the 2022 Absa Champagne in Africa Festival.
One of the longest-running champagne festivals in South Africa finally welcomed back its participants after having to make it virtual in 2021 due to the pandemic. Lovers of champagne all came dressed to the nines as they walked around the tasting area some of the finest premium champagnes that ABSA had to offer.
“Absa is all about excellence to clients and service. One of the best ways to illustrate that is with the presence of champagne. What champagne stands for is time, effort, precision, celebration and also culture. Even though the highlight of this event was the champagne, the most important thing that will forever stand out will be the people and the moment.

This was one of the best ways to bring out people that we haven’t seen in over three years. The turnout was more than I expected so I am grateful for all those who could be with us today,” said the head of equity trading in Absa, Rufaro Daring Mapanda.
