Bryanston Sport Club lets loose with annual celebration

Live performances by Ruby Tuesday and Roll the Dice kept participants of the Oktoberfest on their feet as they danced their troubles away at the Bryanston Sports Club.

In celebration of German culture, Bryanston Sports Club hosted its annual Oktoberfest on October 22 which had a turnout of 200 participants at the venue.

The prestigious celebration which dates back to the early 1800s, showcases and honours everything related to German culture, from the appreciation of beer, and best costume prize giving to the famous German dish known as brotzeitbrettl. Bryanston Sports Club had everything to offer its members and visitors.

“Today is particularly special for us because we are celebrating our 50th anniversary and Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is one of our signatory events during the course of the year. We try to offer our people traditional German fair foods and of course drinks. Lastly, we will be judging the best costume of the day and gift them with a prize,” said the chairman of the social division of the Bryanston Sports Club, Ian ‘Snowy’ Snowball.

Even with the presence of the rain, members and visitors of the establishment did not let it ruin their fun. The majority of the participants were seen on the dance floor with their partners and friends enjoying the tunes of live performances by Ruby Tuesday and Roll the Dice.
