Roses at the Benmore Centre
Trever Taylor of the Gold Reef Rose Society shares his two important steps of maintaining a great garden filled with roses at the Benmore Centre on October 7.
Visitors to Benmore Centre were in for a surprise as the Gold Reef Rose Society displayed some of their finest roses to the public on October 7 and 8.
The annual display was not only about the beautiful sight and aroma of the flowers but it also offered a platform for the members of the society to be judged on their hard work in the garden. All of the flowers which were on display were grown by members of the society.

“We are exhibiting the roses grown by our members in their gardens. It’s also a competition to who’s grown the best. You are roughly looking at three to four years to fully grow show flowers, you have to nurse it and nurture it,” said Trevor Taylor who has been on the society’s committee for four years.
