Local drives message of healthy living in Bryanston

At recent event in aid of the Cancer Association of South Africa, local resident Katie Douglas highlights the importance of living a healthy and nutritious lifestyle.

Local resident Katie Douglas continues to use her platform to educate others about the importance of a healthy and nutritious lifestyle.

Under her brand Nourish to Flourish, she recently hosted an event in aid of the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) at Jackson’s Real Food Market and Eatery in Bryanston.

Douglas, who has had a long-time passion for healthy living, used her journey as a finalist for Mrs South Africa this year to educate the community around her.

“[I] focus daily on educating others on the importance of following a healthy lifestyle and the importance of nutrition in our day to day lives. Through [this] journey [I have] collaborated with some inspiring, like-minded people who all share the same focus and passion on nutrition.”

Jackson’s Real Food Market and Eatery founder Gary Jackson also shared the local brands inspiring story of becoming a well-known household name.

“Other small suppliers attended the event and had a chance during the morning to share about their brand. It was a fun morning, beautiful setting, delicious food and the guests had a great time,” said Douglas.

At the end of the event all of the funds raised were donated to CANSA.
