Water restored in Sandton following emergency shutown

While water was restored to most customers affected by the emergency shutdown in the early hours of September 29, customers experiencing no water or low pressure are urged to contact Joburg Water.

Joburg Water has confirmed that water was restored to most of the affected areas in the early hours of September 29 following an almost 24-hour emergency water shutdown in the Fourways, Bryanston and surrounding areas.

 

The water shutdown allowed JW to attend to a major pipe burst on the corner of Witkoppen Road and William Nicol Drive.

Suburbs affected by the outage included Bryanston, Lyme Park, Rivonia, Fourways, Douglasdale, Magaliesig, Witkoppen, Maroeladal, Craigavon, Dainfern, Kengies, Lonehill, Beverly, Paulshof, Pineslopes, Magaliesig View and Noscot.

Customers who still have no water or are experiencing low pressure are advised to contact Joburg Water to log a complaint and follow up with the call centre.
