A panel of judges were present to critique the students’ appearances and answers based on a series of standards: confidence, professional attire, and the ability to answer the given questions. The students also had to define the word professionalism as a bonus challenge.

“I have been an HR Officer for a long time, and dress code is something that is important, and too often it is underrated. I would say an interview look is a full formal look, professional, or business attire. It is always important to dress to impress,” said Varsha Singh, human resource officer of the institution.

Second-year bachelor of computer and information sciences in application development student, Xavier Naidoo was announced as the winner of this year’s competition. The runner-up of the contest was Yongama Mayaba, who is a bachelor of arts in corporate communications third-year student.

“I cannot thank Relebogile Maomela, Career Centre co-ordinator, and her team enough for facilitating such a fun way of learning. I learned that it is important to dress how you want to be addressed, in addition to the importance of communication, the way one dress is also a way of communicating,” says Krystal Rupnarain, a second-year student.
