Two suspects arrested for unlawful firearm possession in Marlboro

Bramley Police recently arrested two suspects during a road block in Marlboro for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Bramley police said two suspects were recently arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Marlboro.

The suspects, in a white BMW sedan, were stopped during a roadblock along the Old Pretoria Main Road on September 16

“One of the officers found a firearm loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition in a small bag while searching the vehicle,” said Bramley Police Station spokesperson Captain Molefe Mogodi.

The suspects failed to produce a licence for the firearm.

Modogi added that upon investigation, officers found that the serial number on the firearm had been filed off.

“The two suspects were detained at Bramley Police Station and will appear in court soon after they have been profiled by the station’s crime intelligence unit. The purpose of this is to check if they are on our wanted list or not.”
