Sandton SPCA wants to know: How cool is your pet?

Sandton SPCA is thrilled to announce a fun, heartwarming, and impactful initiative in their ‘How Cool is Your Pet?’ competition. The organisation invites pet parents to showcase their beloved cats and dogs, raising crucial funds for shelter animals.

The competition campaign invites pet parents to create a profile for their cats or dogs on the GivenGain donation platform hosted by Sandton SPCA.

Marketing and fundraising manager at the Sandton SPCA Yolande van Rooyen explained how pet owners can showcase their pets’ unique personalities and charm through this platform, while advocating for a crucial cause.

“We all love to talk about our amazing pets, so why not take this chance to let your pawsome companion take centre stage and become a voice for those who need it most,” said Van Rooyen. “We at the Sandton SPCA hope that by showcasing your pet as an ambassador, you will inspire others to get involved in animal welfare. This campaign demonstrates that every person has the power to contribute to a larger cause and make a significant impact. We invite you to join us in this exciting campaign and help make a difference for animals in need.”

Van Rooyen concluded by saying that each donation made in a pet’s name will provide essential care and resources for animals waiting for their forever homes.

“Shelter animals face numerous challenges, including overcrowded facilities and limited resources,” she said. “This campaign is more than just a fundraising event, it’s a celebration of the joy and love that our pets bring into our lives.”

How to Get Involved

• Set up a profile on GivenGain for your pet. Upload their best photos and videos, and harness their star power to support less fortunate animals.
• Share your pet’s profile on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and community WhatsApp groups to rally support and get your pet crowned as the Sandton SPCA’s ambassador cat or dog.
• Encourage Donations and Votes: Funds raised will count as votes. The pet with the most votes and funds raised will be crowned the winner and become the Sandton SPCA’s official ambassador.

• Coolest Pose: Show off your pet’s most impressive stance.
• Funniest Expression: Capture those moments that make you laugh out loud.
• Most Adventurous: Highlight your pet’s wildest escapades.
• Sweetest Snuggle: Share the heartwarming moments of cuddles and affection.
