Who will be our next mayor in Johannesburg?
AI-Jama-ah's Kabelo Gwamanda resigned as City of Johannesburg’s executive mayor on August 13.
An eighth mayor will be elected by the Johannesburg Council soon in hopes of completing their five-year tenure.
The council will sit today (August 16) to elect the new leader.
Executive Mayor, and Al-Jama-ah councillor, Kabelo Gwamanda bit the bullet and resigned on August 13 following calls for his resignation from the ANC, residents, ratepayer associations, religious representatives, and civil society organisations, citing his inability to run the city which continues to fall apart at an alarming rate.
