Super hockey in Morningside yields a clinic

Another weekend of exciting hockey at the Morningside Country Club.

The Southern Gauteng Premier League has brought more exhilarating, high-octane hockey to the Morningside Country Club (MCC).

The hockey culture at the club came to life on June 30 where families enjoyed hockey from the first game beginning at 08:00 to the last match ending at 18:00.
The standout match was the Southern Gauteng Women’s Premier League showdown between MCC Ladies A and NWA Vaal A.

The home team held a 4–0 lead with 10 minutes left on the clock in the third quarter of the match. MCC was dominant and looked nowhere near being ready to slow down their momentum in exerting their dominance against the visitors.

Beaulieu player Quinn Faltain is in possession as MCC players in yellow, Jason Wright and Richard Knight defend.

While NWC valiantly tried to reduce the deficit, MCC maintained their control over the game, scoring six more goals for a 10-0 win.
This game was followed by a hard-hitting, fast-paced, outright war between the MCC men’s D side, and the visiting Beaulieu B team. The visitors claimed a 1–0 lead and defended it throughout the game to emerge as victors.
