Ward 91 councillor Andrew Stewart has supplied an update on the repair work currently being done by Johannesburg Water on Pretoria Avenue – wedged between Katherine Street and Rivonia Road in Sandton.
“They are draining water from the hole before new piping will be laid,” Stewart said on June 27.
This affects areas such as Sandhurst, Weirda Valley, Sandown and Inanda.
Stewart estimated that water would be returned to the area by 17:00 on June 28.
“Water tankers should be deployed at approximately lunchtime.”
The leak on Pretoria Avenue was first reported by locals in the area in November last year and is yet to be confirmed as being in any way related to the planned water outages affecting northern Johannesburg.
