JBA senior ladies host play day event

The Johannesburg Bowl Association Senior Ladies look forward to many more such gatherings in the future, continuing to foster a vibrant and supportive bowling community.

The Bryanston Sports Club was abuzz with excitement and camaraderie as the Johannesburg Bowl Association Senior Ladies hosted a delightful play-day event on May 22.

The event brought together seasoned bowlers for a day of fun, relaxation, and friendly competition.

The lush greens of the Bryanston Sports Club provided the perfect setting for the occasion.

Senior ladies from various clubs across Johannesburg gathered to showcase their skills and enjoy the company of fellow bowling enthusiasts. The event kicked off with a warm welcome from the organisers, setting a cheerful tone for the day.

Jacqueline Lauder, the organiser, said participants engaged in several rounds of bowls, with laughter and friendly banter echoing across the lawns.

“The atmosphere was one of encouragement and mutual support, with players applauding each other’s good shots and sharing tips and techniques.”

She added that as the games progressed, it was evident that the spirit of the day was less about winning and more about enjoying the sport and the companionship it fosters.

“The senior ladies displayed impressive skill and sportsmanship, making for an enjoyable spectacle for both participants and onlookers.”

Lauder pointed out that following the play, attendees gathered for a sumptuous lunch provided by the club.

“Conversations flowed easily as old friends caught up and new friendships were forged over delicious food and drinks. The highlight of the event was the prize-giving ceremony, where outstanding players were recognised for their performance.”

She concluded by stating that the prizes were given for various categories, including best shot, most spirited player, and overall winners.
