Multi-service field named after Bryanston Primary School principal, Morne Marx
Bryanston Primary School launches their new multi-service sports arena named after the incumbent principal.

Representatives from the Gauteng Education Department (GED) Johannesburg’s east district joined Bryanston Primary School’s staff, parents and school governing body (SGB) members for the unveiling of the recently installed multi-service sports field on April 12.

“This is a very big year for us at this school,” said BPS academics head of department Arina Botes. “We are celebrating our 70th jubilee, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with the unveiling of our multi-surface field: the Morne Marx Sports Arena.”

The school put together an intimate and luxuriously comfortable launch event for the recently installed arena.

“We’re a school that never stops,” said BPS principal Morne Marx, thanking all the stakeholders for their contributions towards making the arena a reality for the school and surrounding community. “Schools are not isolated; we all fight the same battles. I believe that it’s important to have representatives from other schools here tonight. Thank you very much for joining us here.”
GED district director Shirley Molobi praised the multi-service field as a remarkable facility which stands as a testimony to the school’s commitment to sports, and physical fitness.

“As we take a moment to reflect on this great achievement, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude,” Molobi said. “This multi-purpose sports arena serves as a physical manifestation of your dedication to providing our learners and community members with the best opportunities to excel both athletically, and academically.
