Sector 4 elects new CPF executive committee

A fair electoral process was facilitated to elect a new committee in Sector 4.

The electoral season debuted early in Sandton as the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) held its Elective General Meeting (EGM) on March 20 in Kelvin.

A new executive committee was elected by the community at the meeting.

“I just want to thank the current CPF team for their efforts and commitment over the past five years, which is the term,” said Nehson Pillay, the outgoing chairperson of Sandton CPF. Sector 4 is probably our most active community in Sandton. We’re encouraged by your participation and your community engagement.”
Pillay was joined by Sandton police’s Lieutenant Colonel Deoun Moodley as well as incoming Sector 4 chairperson Roshan Byjnal.
Byjnal said, “In terms of the sector chairperson’s report, we know our sector is plagued by common robberies, hijackings, and house robberies. It’s been a pattern over many years that’s continued into the past year.

“Your [attendees] presence is a commitment of intent to work with the community in the interest of crime prevention, safety and related matters. As a CPF committee, we appreciate everyone’s attendance.”

Public Liaison Officer: The role remains vacant pending the candidate’s approval from the Sandton CPF’s highest structure due to the candidate having previously resigned from the entity.
