Roads agency calls for caution when driving in storms

As Joburg continues to enjoy the summer rains, the JRA has warned motorists to be cautious of flooded roads.

With Joburg’s traditional wet summer in full swing, some parts of the city have faced periodic flooding. With this the Johannesburg Roads Agency has called on motorists to drive with extreme caution when approaching areas that may have flooded.

The entity also released a list of areas considered high risk for flooding. Among these were several neighbouring suburbs to Sandton including Fourways, Lonehill and Paulshof.

JRA works closely with emergency services and other city entities, including Public Safety, Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD), Emergency Management Services (EMS) and Disaster Management, Johannesburg Water, Joburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), and Environmental Infrastructure Services Department (EISD).
