My Pet and I: Frisky and Storman

Meeting Storman and Frisky out on a walk in Sandton

Sandton local Storman Norman and Frisky were on their Sandton sunny day walk on January 20 earlier this year, and Norman shared as much as he could about his adopted friend Frisky.

Norman said that he adopted Frisky nine years ago from the SPCA in Edenvale.

“Her name was given to her, probably, by that SPCA because she used to jump on everyone when she was younger. She hardly does that anymore,” said Norman. “She’s mainly Golden Retriever, probably 11 or 12 years old.”

Norman, who played water polo and hockey before having a second knee replacement, described Frisky as being a nervous dog, which he suspects is because of trauma from her years as a stray puppy.

“She was probably beaten and kicked as a puppy when she had to scrounge for her living,” Norman said. “She’s constantly, as you probably see, looking for bones.”

Bones are Frisky’s favourite thing to eat said Norman.

“Especially chicken bones,” Norman said. “That’s probably how she survived as a puppy as she grew up.”
