Brescia House School reflects on the year 2023

Brescia House School is an independent Catholic girls’ school situated in the heart of Bryanston.

As 2024 begins, Brescia House School took time to reflect on how the previous school year was, thanking all staff, parents, and learners for their unwavering support throughout 2023.

According to the heads of the school, Loredana Borello and Deborah Zambon, 2023 had been a year of adapting, introducing, and reintroducing positive synergies.

“We are at the end of the year where we take stock and reflect on what we have experienced,” Borello said in the school’s message to Sandton Chronicle at the end of the previous year. “Our Grade 12s have ended their journey, and we bid them farewell and express our gratitude for their unwavering commitment and resilience.”

Borello added that their Grade 12s were the ones who experienced high school before, during, and after a pandemic. To her observations, they adapted superbly.

“It has also been a year of reintroducing programmes such as our Global Exchange with Ursuline schools in the USA,” Borello concluded. “What a privilege to be able to experience different schooling systems and cultures.”

Zambon said that the highlight the school holds in great pride from 2023 was the project completion of building Brescia House’s new Early Learning Centre (ELC).

“We are proud to be introducing ‘Brescia Bears’, to our school community this year,” said Zambon. “It will cater for boys and girls from ages three to five years old and offer either full-day or half-day programmes.”

Furthermore, she explained that they cannot wait to welcome the Brescia Bear families to their schooling community.
