The SPCA Book Nook just got bigger

The SPCA shop in Morning Glen mall has relocated.

Lovers of animals who show their support by buying books will be delighted to learn of the relocation of Sandton SPCA’s bookstore The Book Nook.

The Book Nook’s relocation across the aisle on November 22 was to afford customers a more spacious and comfortable experience at the store.

The Book Nook 2.0, as store manager Jacqui Thompson calls it, is about double the size of the old store.

“We have people who come in every week,” said Thompson. “They sit in chairs, and they natter while they read through books, it’s got good energy. There’s always good energy where good books gather.”

Although still at Morning Glen Mall at the corner of Kelvin Drive and Bowling Avenue, The Book Nook has moved from the corner shop in front of Clicks to the shop next door.

Thompson expressed her gratitude to the community for being so supportive of the relocation.

“We have just got the most incredible reaction from the community, and we have so many regulars that come into the shop. We are, truly, part of their routine, and part of the community’s happy place.”

The Book Nook is a great shop for uncles and aunts to spoil their nieces and nephews to classic reads for children: Noddy and Friends, Winnie the Pooh, and Frozen, to name a few. It’s also an ideal place to volunteer, said Marion Willis who volunteers to show her love for animals.

“I’ve always helped the SPCA out where I can, and this just looked like an extension of that,” said Willis.
