Bryanston Sports Club soft-serve Santa

Bryanston Sports Club gives back to the children of northern Johannesburg.

Bryanston Sports Club hosted their annual Christmas party for their members’ children, as well as for the club’s seasonal guests from Kids’ Haven orphanage in Fourways.

Bryanston Sports Club chairperson Ian Snowball praised the beauty of the occasion in how it happens yearly.

Father Christmas (John Green) and Fancy the Elf (Azwnndini Nancy Tshivhula) bring smiles to children’s faces.

“It’s the pinnacle of what Bryanston Sports Club tries to do for the community,” Snowball said. “Santa’s on his way, we’ve got ice cream as well, and the weather is fantastic. We’re hoping that they’re all going to have a good time.”

The club organised jumping castles, face-painters, eats, and gift bags for all the children in attendance. The main feature at the event was Father Christmas arriving in style in an ice cream truck.

“I really look forward to coming to Bryanston Sports Club because, besides bringing the children who love Santa, they also bring orphans, so it’s a bit of charity thrown in,” said Santa (portrayed by club member John Green). “That’s what makes my heart glad, and that’s why I’m here.”
