The headmaster of a local school praises his learners for great plays at the St David's Marist Inanda basketball tournaments.

Michael Mount Waldorf School’s U15 and U19 boys’ basketball teams came on fire at the St. David’s Marist Inanda Basketball Tournament.

Competing against the best, after three days of showing off their basketball skills, both teams qualified to play in the respective finals on the last day of the tournaments.

Christina Seuffert, the marketing and communications person at the school, said, “Our U15 team won gold, and our U19 team won silver. We are incredibly proud of how our teams represented the school with such a strong spirit and sense of camaraderie.”

Seuffert added a special mention to Rishaan Gupta and Lufuno Musisidwa, who were elected All-Stars in the U15 and U19 divisions, respectively, as well as Luca Amerseder, who was named MVP of the U15 tournament.

Headmaster William Bester said, “This is the last tournament for the year, and I congratulate all our teams on an outstanding year in basketball for Michael Mount. Looking back on some of the highlights, we were able to bring home various titles from the AISJ, Mafikeng, St John’s, and St Stithians tournaments throughout the year.”

He added that their success is a testament to the pride, spirit, and passion of their learners and their coaches, as well as their commitment to each other.
