Cricket giants clash at Wanderers

Highlight of the T20 clash between Joburg Super Kings and Paarl Royals at the Wanderers Stadium was the 61 which Jason Roy of Paarl Royals made before the cancellation of the game due to weather conditions.

The highly loved cricket tournament, T20, was in full action and full swing on February 3, as third and fourth place teams of the log, Joburg Super Kings and Paarl Royals took the centre stage to see who would reign supreme.

The match between the two giants held at the Wanderers Stadium on February 3 started with the home team winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. The start proved to be a bit slow as both teams were analysing one another’s strengths and weaknesses and eventually Paarl went into attack mode after the first 10 minutes.

Jason Roy of Paarl Royals successfully made the most runs during the course of the match with 61, but sadly his time on the pitch was cut short after Dovovan Ferreira, caught his flying ball on the east side of the pitch.

The presence of rain led to a short break between the two and once the clouds cleared, the match commenced.

Batsman of Paarl Royals Jason Roy makes 61 runs during the course of the match.

With both teams displaying their true colours, the match kept fans entertained and cheering on.

The second presence of heavy rain just after the players made their retun on the pitch, led to the cancellation of the game with 131/4 (15).
