1st Bryanston Scout Group completed another year

It has been a great scouting year for the 1st Bryanston Scouts as many of its young leaders had great accomplishments and gained new skills.

The 1st Bryanston Scout Group has concluded yet another amazing year of scouting.

Many of the group’s young leaders, across various age groups, completed and achieved outstanding accomplishments, gaining new skills and giving their best to their communities.

“Scouting’s mission is to contribute to the education of young people through a value system based on the Scout promise and law. Through scouting, we are building a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society,” said the group’s David Sand.

Scouting in South Africa is part of a worldwide scouting organization that has 216 participating countries with over 57 million scouts,

Contributing over two billion community service hours to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and promoting sustainability of our planet, promoting peace, equal opportunity and human rights for all.

The local scout group also recently has visit from Irina Igoshina, Scout Master from the Organization of Russian Youth Scouts, from Moscow, Russia.

“She was a young scout in the post the Soviet era when scouting in Russia was made possible again and is now very involved is seeing the scouting movement grow and make a positive impact.

“It was a pleasure to host Irina and her traveling companions at 1st Bryanston to see how we do things here and then our neighbouring Scout Group 1st Rivertrail celebrated a year end campfire where they got to join in and share campfire stories and songs.”

The 1st Bryanston Scout Group looks forward to the new year of possibilities and growth for the group and its members.
