Imbumba Foundation continues to climb to the top

Communication manager of the Imbumba Foundation, Sina Moyane, take the time to reflect on 2022 while giving thanks to partners who made their operations come to life.

For the Imbumba Foundation, 2022 has been a busy year.
Their primary mission of providing sanitary pads to those in need and educating people on period poverty has made its way to almost all parts of South Africa while acknowledging the 10th anniversary of two of their campaigns.

An extension of the foundation’s identity, Caring4Girls and Trek4Mandela were indeed the highlights of the organisation as both campaigns reached their 10th-year mark of making the world a better place for young girls.

Caring4Girls:

The Caring4Girls campaign successfully made 1.8 million donations of sanitary pads since the start of its operation. The communication manager of the organisation Sina Moyane said the organisation’s collaboration with Dis-Chem Foundation in forming the Millions Comfort campaign allowed both entities to raise more than 10 million sanitary pads.

“We have seen huge growth with all of our programmes and are very excited about the new prospects that await us. Imbumba means a ‘bean seed’ which is a symbol of an eternal cycle of life.
“We are trying to create sustainable means for all and to ensure longevity with our operations,” said Moyane.

Trek4Mandela:

The campaign added a second expedition to their journey to Mount Kilimanjaro with climbers raising funds for the social cause.

During the year 2022, the Imbumba Foundation has grown significantly and is not showing signs of slowing down as it creates more campaigns to better the lives of others such as Vision 20/20 and humanitarian aid.

“A very big thank you to all our corporate partners, Trek4Mandela climbers as well as friends of the Imbumba Foundation for your continued support throughout the years. We have a goal called Vision20/20 to support all Quintile 1 to 3 schools across the country with menstrual hygiene and believe this can be achieved if we continue to work together to alleviate period poverty,” said the founder of Imbumba Foundation, Richard Mabaso.

Wish list:

Moyane said the only thing on their wish list was to see people be kinder to one another during the festive season and cherish what is around.

The organisation thanks all of their external partners, Sibusiso Vilane, Fikile Kuhlase, Sello Hatang and the team for a successful 2022.
