In Photos: Miss SA costume reveal ahead of Miss Universe

It was an emotional farewell for Miss South Africa 2022 Ndavi Nokeri as she unveiled her highly anticipated national costume ahead of the Miss Universe pageant.

“It is a matter of when, not if,” said Miss South Africa 2022 Ndavi Nokeri as she unveiled her national costume for the Miss Universe pageant.

An emotional farewell was held at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton ahead of the international competition set to take place on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans.

A farewell, as well as an unveiling for the much-anticipated outfit.

Nokeri’s national costume, designed by fashion house Scalo by Sello Medupe and Henderson Worx, is inspired by her proud Tsongo culture.

Also, revealed at the farewell was one of the evening gowns that the 23-year-old will be taking with her to the international pageant.

Designed by Juan Wiliam Aria, the gown’s intricate hand-sewn stone and beadwork is inspired by the country’s rich minerals.

Nokeri added that she is beyond excited to represent her country at the upcoming pageant.

“For a girl from Limpopo, to stand here and be trusted with the responsibility and represent an entire nation is rare; you don’t see that every day. I am so honoured as we continue to make history each day.”

The last time a South African brought home the Miss Universe title was in 2019 when Zozibini Tunzi was awarded the coveted crown.
