The Bryanston Library was filled with bright smiles and excitement as it hosted its annual children’s puppet show on September 5.
Puppeteer Ann Parker spent an hour teaching the children about the wonders of outer space along with a few fun facts with the help of a collection of puppets and nifty props.
Organised by the Friends of Bryanston Library, a group that has been supporting the local library for over 10 years, the puppet show was eagerly attended as it was the first show in two years due to the pandemic. Covid-19 not only limited groups from gathering but the library itself was also closed for prolonged periods.
Sally Smith, who was in attendance, noted that it was wonderful to once again be able to host the puppet show and see off the children gathered at the library once again.
“It is just wonderful to see people at the library and the children coming to the puppet show. We hope to host another puppet show before the end of the year.”
The show concluded with a round of applause and many attendees stayed to explore the library’s large children’s book section.
The Bryanston Library, located on the corner of New and Payne Roads, is open to the public and filled with an array of books.
