Internationally-acclaimed sculptor takes centre stage at Nelson Mandela Square

Art enthusiasts are in for a treat as internationally-acclaimed local sculptor Aton Smit’s Colossal exhibition is on display at Nelson Mandela Square.

Art lovers are in for a treat as internationally-acclaimed local sculptor Anton Smit’s Colossal exhibition takes centre stage with Live Art On The Square.

The outdoor exhibition in collaboration with the Artyli Gallery was unveiled on August 13 and is available to view until October 31.

The title piece of the exhibition is 4m-high sculpture which embodies the spirit of contemporary Africa.

Titled Colossal, Smit’s collection of mesmerising pieces has transformed the square into an outdoor open-air gallery with over 20 sculptures that are spaciously positioned so that they can be explored and enjoyed by all.

The title piece of the exhibition is Colossal Youth, a 4m-high sculpture which embodies the spirit of contemporary Africa.
